Default IMAP + POP3 account

Hi all
I have 1 POP3 account and 1 IMAP4 account.
And the end I was able to setup a rule that move a copy of any msg sent via
IMAP account to the Sent-msg folder of the IMAP account.

The trick was to set the IMAP account as DEFAULT ACCOUNT, but ther is a
proble, so ...

IF default account = IMAP ACCOUNT
msg sent through POP3 account sent and stored in Sent-msg forlder of POP3
account (OK)
msg sent through IMAP account sent and stored in Sent-msg folder of IMAP
account (OK)

IF default account = POP3 ACCOUNT
msg sent through POP3 account sent and stored in Sent-msg forlder of POP3
account (OK)
msg sent through IMAP account sent and stored in Sent-msg folder of POP3
account (WRONG!!)

WHY ???

Is it possible to solve this problem ?

Thanks a lot

Alberto

how does your rule read? it shouldn't matter which account is default - you
just need a rule that moves mail sent on the imp account to the imap sent
folder. A copy will remain in the local sent folder used by the pop account
unless you create a send rule for the pop account and disable the ability to
automatically save sent items, which can result in imap messages not getting
saved if you lose the connection to the server.

Default IMAP + POP3 account

Well I have done a little test.
my rule like :

tools rules check msg after send thrght the accnt move a copy to
sent msg folder

I have done 2 rules
1) for POP3 account if use POP3 account move to POP3 sent-msg folder
2) for IMAP account if use IMAP account move to IMAP sent-msg folder

If I set POP3 account as default work ONLY POPe rule, the same for IMAP

I'm thinking...
I have 2 .pst file one for POP3 account and another one for IMAP account

When I built the rule for POP3 account I cannot see the IMAP rules; and
when I built IMAP rule I cannot see POP3 rule, this because the are on
different PST file (may be this reason of the malfunction ?)

If I'm right, this is true also with 2 or more IMAP account because all of
them have a "reserved" pst files.

Is it possible to have a common PST file for more than one IMAP account ?
Is it possible to mix PST file for POP3 and IMAP in only one file ?

Of course for OL XP (2002) SP3

Thanks a lot

Alberto
