Default Mark as Read? After x seconds?

I'm using Outlook 2000 and was wondering if it is possible to mark a message
as read after it has been clicked on for x # of seconds? I read all of my
emails at the bottm of the split window not by opening them???

I'm not 100% sure since it's been a while since I used OL2000 but see if the
options are he Tools menu Options Other tab Click Preview Pane
