Windows XP Pro SP2
Outlook 2003 SP2 I was getting email duplicates in Outlook on my laptop. So I went to my desktop computer (which does not have duplicate email), copied the Outlook.pst file (from directory below), and placed it on my laptop (replacing the original laptop Outlook.pst file with the desktop Outlook.pst file). C:\Documents and Settings\john\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst I fired up Outlook on the laptop. The laptop starts downloading email and creates duplicate email. The Outlook on both computers is set for Leave a copy of messages on the server. Both have SP2. So why is it making duplicates? I do use filters. Thank you for any the feedback. |

Let me further clarify that the filters move email and do not copy email.
On the laptop, every email folder I have has duplicate emails. Is there some way to delete the duplicates in bulk? There are too many to delete by hand. Thank you for any feedback. |

![]() I had the same problem. Not sure if my details match yours, but here was the key for me: One of my sub folders was interfering in the rules. eg: INBOX BUSINESS PERSONAL / Sailing I had a few accounts and folders and sub-folders. Kept getting duplicate emails after adding a rule to move certain mail to "Sailing". I would get mail in "PERSONAL" and then in "sailing" - ust wanted certai mail to move to sailing. Turns out it's because I had a rule to sort mail first: 1 rule sent mail to "Personal", another to "Sailing" - essentially, any mail received thru "Personal" was sent to Personal, and then I had a 2nd rule to send it thru to "sailing". Solution was to create EXCEPTIONS in "Personal" - any mail recvd thru that account would go to Personal, EXCEPT mail that had to do with Sailings. Not sure If I'm clear enough or if it's the same prob you're having. Hope it helps. -- rokket2001 Posted from - http://www.officehelp.in |

Thank you for the feedback, but that is not the problem I am experiencing.
I should not have even mentioned the filters since I have duplicates in every folder so I don't believe the filters are the problem. |
