Default Tasks Not Opening on Double Click

When users assign a task the user that the task is assigned to can't
open the task request via double click. The only way to read the task is
to select the task and then click reply. What are some possible reasons
for this behavior? A result of this problem is users can't accept or
decline the task therefore it is not added to their task list. Has
anyone experienced this before?

TIA,
Chris
