I've reviewed all the posted topics, but they all have a step in there that
says to open Outlook Express on your new machine. I have a Windows 7 machine and Outlook Express is no longer available. So how do I export my Outlook Express account on my XP machine to Outlook 2003 on my new Windows 7 machine? |

Two choices that come to mind
#1 - Export your OE contacts to a CSV file on your XP machine and import the CSV file into O'2003 on the Windows 7 machine #2 - Install Outlook (if it's not already there) on the XP machine, import the OE contacts into Outlook (via Outlook) and copy the Outlook PST file from XP to the Win 7 system and make it your default PST file for O'2003 Karl -- __________________________________________________ __________ Karl Timmermans - The Claxton Group ContactGenie - QuickPort/DataPort/Exporter/Toolkit/Duplicate Contact Mgr "Contact import/export/data management tools for Outlook '2000/2010" http://www.contactgenie.com "kpd7374" wrote in message ... Karl isn't "quite" there! (Sorry Karl!) :-) You can either install Outlook on the old machine and EXPORT your OE mail to it, then transfer the resultant pst file (don't import it - do File-Open-Outlook Data File in Outlook) or install Windows Live Mail on the W7 machine, copy your ENTIRE OE message store to your new Documents folder and import into WLM. Then EXPORT from WLM to Outlook. On the whole I think the former way would be less hassle... |

Was half way there :-) - my original #2 suggestion is the same as your
first suggestion save for the fact that it should have stated the "entire account" instead of just contacts which I had on the brain when replying originally. Will agree though, would never have suggested export at all if I wasn't just thinking about contacts at the time so gladly stand corrected on that one. Only caveat I have about the suggestion to copy the "Entire OE" store is that that can be a challenge trying to figure out exactly what all has to be copied if doing that manually "especially" when there are multiple identities on a machine or multiple logon IDs etc. However, Outlook Express Backup (6.5) from Genie-Soft is available free of charge which may make that an easier process http://www.genie-soft.com/products/oeb/default.html Karl -- __________________________________________________ __________ Karl Timmermans - The Claxton Group ContactGenie - QuickPort/DataPort/Exporter/Toolkit/Duplicate Contact Mgr "Contact import/export/data management tools for Outlook '2000/2010" http://www.contactgenie.com "Gordon" wrote in message ...
