Default Peer to Peer LAN Fax

I have a small 7 computer peer to peer LAN. One PC has a modem. How can I
send faxes from each PC to the one computer that has the modem. No other
computer on the LAN has a modem.

How is this related to Outlook? I would use Google to find your solution.

Because a lot of the 3rd party applications involve Outlook integration. I
figured if there are Outlook experts here and the group name is
"Microsoft.Public.Outlook.Fax" then someone would know how to setup LAN
faxing using Outlook.

So stop asking smartass questions and responding with smartass responses.

If you have something intelligent to add, then post. If not, turn off your
computer and go to bed.

You say you are an MVP Outlook and you respond with Google?

Get real....

Default Peer to Peer LAN Fax

Oh boy, where do I begin????

First of all, lose the attitude. This group is for Outlook faxing, not "third party faxes that integrate with Outlook" - which means the fax services provided by Outlook. If you want a group for third party fax solutions, then look to the third party support pages.

Second, the only smartass I see here is the one looking in your mirror.

Third, contrary to popular opinion, one of the better resources for finding information is Google - why do you find it unusual to hear of a Microsoft MVP (by the way - NOT an employee) telling you to use Google to search before posting?

Fourth, just go to bed yourself until you find a clue in your dreams. Tell me where in your original post you asked about setting up Fax services using Outlook??????

In case you don't remember, here is the original post, in all its glory:

"I have a small 7 computer peer to peer LAN. One PC has a modem. How
can I send faxes from each PC to the one computer that has the modem.
No other computer on the LAN has a modem."

Be very careful whom you slam carelessly - it will never end up in a good resolution.

Hello,

Though your question is not directly related with Outlook,
generally speaking, there IS some software working as FAX
server and client which fits your request working with Outlook.

As I am in Japan, they use the software "MY Talk FAX Pro 8"
by Intercom Corp's, which has the capability operating as FAX
server and client and you can install it to one PC as FAX server
while to another PCs as FAX client.
The FAX server PC shall be connected to the analog telephone
line via the Voice/FAX modem.
From another PC connected to HOME network, you can send and
receive Faxes via the FAX server PC .

Some software you can find in your country may have the similar
capability, I hope.

Awww, did I hurt your feelings??? ... respond to questions with real
answers or don't post at all. --period.

Too bad you couldn't answer the question. The simple answer is Outlook
can't fax over a LAN.

My solution - for less than $400, snappysoftware.com has a very nice
solution, installs in seconds, works like a dream - leaving Outlook out of
the picture.

Working in the field as a MCSE this tiny software app saved me hours of
config time.

Does Intercom Corp have an English page for "MY Talk FAX Pro 8"? Is the
product available in the US?

Hi HAL,

http://www.intercom.co.jp/english/index.html#mytalkfax

You can ask whether they keep the English edition of MY TALK FAX 8.

Oh I forgot to tell some more point:

The software "MY Talk FAX Pro 8" published in Japan will
work with "Outlook Address book", not work "IN OUTLOOK".

Or you can send "Outlook message" as FAX printing it
to the FAX printer that is installed by the software though
the message sent is stored into the "Outbox" of "MY Talk FAX Pro 8"
,not into to Sent Item folder in Outlook..
