Can someone please tell me how to set up OE so that it sits in the system
tray and scans for emails so I don't have to have the program open all the
time. I used to use Incredimail but have switched over to OE for the
Calender etc. Can't find instructions for the above anywhere.
Thank you in advance

Are you sure you are speaking of OE? Outlook Express does not have a
calendar.

AFAIK, you can't put OE in the SysTray. You can open it and then minimize it
to the Taskbar but OE /must/ be open to receive mail.

If not checked already:

Tools | Options | General. Check for messages every XX minutes. Check it.

Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | General. Check: "Include this
account............".

You can't "minimize OE to the systray" without installing some third-party
application.

OE doesn't have a calendar; OL does.

Karryn,

You can use a program called Tray Me
(http://www.codeproject.com/KB/system/TrayMe.aspx)

Become a free member, download the application & use). You can then cancel
your membership after that

There is a better version he http://www.teamcti.com/trayit/trayit.htm
which is also free. I would recommend this one of the two

What it does it hooks an application then you can send it to the System Tray
running normally

Or if you are a programmer like me just write a system tray application POP3
application that you can then open an e-mail application when the need
arises

You'll have to use a 3rd party program as OE doesn't manage a tray icon.

4t Tray Minimizer (free and paid versions)
