All of a sudden, my outlook express has started to continually send any email
I leave in my Outbox. One customer got the same email 700+ times overnight
this week.

I have deleted the Outbox and let OE re-create it. This action did not
correct the problem.

Does anyone else have an idea of what to do next?

1. Tools | Accounts | Mail | [account(s) | Properties | Advanced | Sending |
Break apart messages larger than... (uncheck).

2. Disable email scanning by your anti-virus application. It provides no
additional protection, it may be playing a role here, and even Symantec says
it's not necessary:

are distributed as email attachments. Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect scans
incoming files as they are saved to your hard drive, including email and
email attachments. Email Scanning is just another layer on top of this. To
make sure that Auto-Protect is providing the maximum protection, keep
Auto-Protect enabled and run LiveUpdate regularly to ensure that you have
the most recent virus definitions.

Was OE closed when you deleted the Outbox.dbx file? Did you delete the file
from the correct identity? Move all the messages you want to save out of
Sent Items, close OE and delete that dbx file as well.

Was OE closed when you deleted the Outbox.dbx file? Did you delete the file
from the correct identity? Move all the messages you want to save out of
