Default disk cleanup

i have windows xp sp2 i did a disk cleanup and i think i deleted regestry
key for the desk top i have a black space at the left side off mt desktop the
screen seems to have moved over and i now dont have standbye where you turn
your computer of is anyone out there no anything about this problem
