As of Jan 11, I continually get "no new messages" although some have been
sent. Also sent msgs don't arrive. I've checked all my settings. Any
ideas? Goldie

What happens if you try to send a message to yourself? Does it show in Sent
Items? Does it show on your ISP's Webmail site?

Are there any new messages in the inbox at your BellSouth(/Yahoo?) account's
webmail page? Assuming there are *and* your account is configured
properly...

Your current Identity may be damaged, especially if its the default Main
Identity. Try your account in a new Named Identity...

File | Identities | Add new identity

Assuming all is well, (1) compact all folders in the old identity, (2)
import messages from the old identity into the new one, and then (3) delete
the old one (File | Identities | Manage Identities).

To avoid such corruption in futu

- Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local
folders created for this purpose.

- Empty Deleted Items folder daily.

- Frequently perform a manual compact of all OE folders while "working
offline". More at http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm

- Do not cancel Automatic Compacting, should it occur, and do not attempt to
close OE via Task Manager or shutdown your machine if Automatic Compacting
is taking place.

- Disable email scanning by your anti-virus application. It can cause
corruption (i.e., loss of messages) and provides no additional protection:

Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email

Why don't you try it to yourself so you can see what would be the result?
There is no anything wrong in trying this things.

Please kindly tell the details of what you are trying to say? What program
you are using for Email if OE6 or another one third party. or by HTTP such
as yahoo or hotmail?

Check with your filter settings or the spam settings so you will know what
is wrong.
