Default Free news-server - posting allowed ?

Can anyone suggest if there are any free news-servers that allow posting?
I am interested in the 'soc.culture' groups specifically.
I was using AIOE.org but they seem to have stopped working.
TIA

I'd doubt they'd accept a address or any other "hosted"

What sort of email address do they want? Hotmail? Gmail?
