Default Font colors

Am unable to change font colors. After highlighting text and selecting a
different color I end up seeing only the default black font - no change.
This occurs for new messages only.
Any ideas?

Are you using stationery? Including *Blank*?

Also check Control Panel, Accessibility Options, Display and Uncheck Use
High Contrast
