Norman,
The beta is 14.0.5027, not .2057. I know what you meant to say, but I would remove only from this line: MS Outlook Express only runs under Windows XP; if you have Windows Vista, you don't have MSOE. Outlook Express runs on systems as old as Windows 98. -- Ronald Sommer "N. Miller" wrote in message ... On Mon, 6 Oct 2008 21:19:01 -0700, Lee K. wrote: I get this message when running Live Mail. Why starting WLMail invokes OE at all is a mystery to me but...
You'll find support for Windows Live Mail (WLM) in this public newsgroup: microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop Via the web-interface: http://www.microsoft.com/communities...mail .desktop Via your newsreader: news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...e.mail.desktop -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Desktop Experience - since 2002 AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.net/ Lee K. wrote: I get this message when running Live Mail. Windows Live Mail (WLM) should not be trying to open Outlook Express
(OE). Were you previously using OE? Possibly some software that you previously used with OE is being triggered by WLM and trigger OE. This might be anti-virus software set to scan e-mail, anti-spam software, or some connection manager software. The letter is provided by some ISPs and can automatically launch specified applications when an Internet connection is established. As long as your anti-virus software is set to scan files as they are opened, scanning e-mail as it downloads or sends is unnecessary and prone to problems. With some anti-virus (and anti-spam) programs, simply disabling the e-mail scanning function doesn't really disable it. It simply tells the program not to flag any messages. It still processes all the messages and may still cause send/receive failures. What you may need to do is uninstall the anti-virus program, then reinstall it using a custom install option and unselect the e-mail scanning component for installation. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "doyler" wrote in message ...
