I am using Outlook Express 6. Everytime I send a spreadsheet the person I am
sending it to gets 'WARNING MESSAGE ENCRYPTED' and is unable to read the
message. Please can you tell me what to do to stop this happening. Thanks

Is the problem only when you send a spreadsheet? What about other types
of files?

Is only the one recipient having problems?

Have you installed PGP?

Are you running any security suite with encryption options?

If you like you may e-mail me a message with a sample attachment and
I'll see if it has anything that could cause problems.

Word, Excel, and other Office documents can have a password added. It
isn't great security but more like putting a padlock on a shed door.
Maybe you have Excel configured or that document's attributes setup to
password protect it.

Then OE is not encrypting the attachment/email. See Michael's reply.

In answer to you questions. I only need to send spreadsheets so don't know about other attachments. All recipients are having problem and I don't know about PGP being installed because I don't know what it it (I'm a dummy). My security programme in TrendPC Cillin, could it be this that is causing the problems.

Trend does offer encryption of e-mail, so that could be the cause.
Check your settings in it.
