Default Red X

Someone sent me some pictures (jpg's) which only showed as Red X's in the
body of the e-mail, and yet the attachments opened fine in my Picture
Manager. What else is puzzling, is that there was no paper clip even though
they were clearly attachments. The last pictures that someone sent me
recently were both attachments that I could open but they were also in the
body of the e-mail. I haven't changed any settings. (I don't even remember
where to look where people can allow pics to be shown in the e-mail.)

By default, graphic attachments show already open after the text of a
message, rather than imbedded if inserted, which would not show a paper
clip.

There are a few possibilities. Some are on the sender's end, and some may be
on your end. If it is from this one person only, it is probably on there
end. Occasionally, some ISPs have incompatibility issues and do not forward
graphics correctly.
