OE6 with XP sp2
I had trouble with Norton and OE last week so I took someone's advice and changed mapi32.dll to mapi32.old and I changed mapi3x.dll to mapi32.dll When I use the Send to Mail Recipient, the little window flies open and says Choose Profile and only shows Microsoft Outlook. I uninstalled it two or three weeks ago. How do I make the Send to Mail Recipient go back to OE like it was doing before last week? I just did a search for mapi and only mapi32.old shows on my PC. PS If you have me go into run or the registry please explain the steps carefully as I don't do those two things often and I know I have to be very careful to follow every step correctly. ![]() I posted then in the wrong group win98 group instead of this group earlier this evening; wondered why I wasn't getting any replies. Sorry for the double post. |

Not knowing everything you have done, I would think this should help.
Make OE the default e-mail client: http://www.oehelp.com/oedef.aspx See this if it still does not set as default: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306098 -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ wrote in message oups.com... Well, Bruce, I did everything those two articles said to do, and I can
now right click on a file, choose sendto mail recipient just fine (I had to type a string in to the msoe.dll path in the registry like the MS instructions said, BUT now when I open Word and click send to, the mail recipient line is faded out and only the fax line is bright. What now please? |

Unfortunately, I have no hands-on knowledge using Word. We will have to wait
for a suggestion from someone else. Keep checking back to this thread. Sundays are somewhat quiet around here, so you may not see a reply for awhile. Wish I could help more, but if you're patient, I'm sure help will come. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ wrote in message oups.com... Here's a Microsoft KB article for Word 2003 that might provide a clue, but I
don't think it will offer the solution. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/834008/en-us A good place for the question would be an Office or Word newsgroup. Reinstalling Outlook might fix things. -- Tim K. aka Kuay Tim MS-MVP - Outlook Express Lynnwood, WA * wrote in message oups.com...
