As with earlier problem of failed outgoing emails with large attachments need
to add that when using the ISP's web mail the problem is not occurring. This
same error occurs on two separate computers, on the same ISP with or without
the router connected.

When attempting to send from OE 6, if I have an attachment of 1.0mg or
larger, I get an error msg. 0x800ccc0F with error 10053. I can receive
attachments of most any size, just can't fwd or send new. I can, however,
send them from the ISP's web mail site, just not from OE. I have talked to
the tech's at the ISP, Dell and Microsoft; have exhausted all their help up
to the point of having to pay $60 to $120 for them to attempt to fix.
However, the ISP tech says it cannot be their problem because the web mail
goes out. And even tho it is between the ISP and OE, they cannot make any
attempt to resolve an "OE" problem! I've also tried to send it from a laptop
using my same ISP and same result; also attempted to send without the router
connected and after disabling EMAIL SCAN in AVG virus scanner. I have no
Norton/or other anti-virus on here.

A 1MB attachment is actually about 1.35 to 1.40MB due to encoding. It still
could be a size limit set by your ISP. Using OE to send through them, and
using Webmail are completely different. Who is your ISP?

It may still be e-mail scanning. In some programs, unchecking it still
leaves it semi-working in the background.

Reinstall AVG and choose Custom Mode. Uncheck E-mail Scanning when you see
that option. For some reason, just unchecking it in the security center
causes a conflict with the Windows Security Center.

Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced. Move the Timeout slider to
5 minutes.

Dave K adds: I did the AVG reinstall w/o email scan and nothing changes. I
believe it is a Mediacom=OE problem for which they want $$ to resolve! Thanx
for your help.

Socket error
WSAECONNABORTED 10053 Software caused connection abort.

The fact that Web mail goes out does not indicate that it is not their
problem. Web mail uses a different port than SMTP mail.
How do you connect to the Internet, dialup, cable, etc.?
Are you still connected to the Internet or did that disconnect, too?
What is the complete error message?
