Aha! Now that is a useful trick to know about.

Thank you.

It is not the cursor that is staying put, it is the I-bar
representing the mouse. Of course if you tap the touch-pad, that is the
same thing as
clicking the mouse at the location and that is the command to move
the cursor there. Touch pads are sensitive, but carefully move the mouse
I-bar up to
the tool bar before you start typing. Then a click of the mouse
does not change the cursor location.

I am using OE in XP on a notebook PC which has a touchpad. I have a
problem in that while typing in OE, the cursor remains where it last
was placed by the touchpad so that if the touchpad is accidentally
touched while I am typing, the typing abruptly jumps to that
previous cursor position and of course the new typing is now in the
wrong place instead of being at the end of the prior typed text. Is
there a way to force the cursor to follow wherever I am typing so
this jumping back behavior does not happen?

Jeff
