Default Losing my email settings

I had this problem, the reason mine were lost is due to doing a system
restore..

Just to be sure, I disabled email protection, create the identities then
restarted email protection....

So far I have not had the issue (2 days and counting)...

Why do my account settings disappear when I close down Outlook Express? Each
time I open Outlook Express I must enter all the techie stuff about pop3 and
smtp before I can get or send emails. This has happened only just recently.
There seems to be some instability. Can anyone suggest a solution? I can find
no refernece to this symptom in any of Microsoft's support pages.
