I cannot increase the size of text in e-mails that I receive. I have tried
going to View, Text Size, and clicking on Largest. Nothing changes. I can click on all the different sizes listed and nothing happens. I have tried moving the mouse cursor over an open message while holding down the Ctrl key and scrolling down with the mouse wheel. Again nothing happens. I have tried going to Tools, Options, Read, Fonts, and changing the Font size to Largest. Again nothing happens. Can anyone help me with this problem? Thank you, Robert -- Robert |

You may have a damaged identity especially if it is the default Main
Identity. File | Identity | Add New Identity. Create a new one and test it. If all is well, you can import your messages and Address Book from the old identity and delete it. I have now found that this happens only with some e-mail that I receive and
not all. -- Robert "Robert" wrote: I cannot increase the size of text in e-mails that I receive. I have tried going to View, Text Size, and clicking on Largest. Nothing changes. Do these messages have anything in common, like the same senders? If you
send yourself a message can you change the text size? BTW, the Ctrl key & scroll wheel only works when reading in Plain Text. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "Robert" wrote in message ... Bruce Hagen: Thank you for your response. If I send myself a message, I can
change the text size. It now appears that the messages are all from the same person, and they are always in small type. I appreciate your advice on scrolling with the Ctrl key. -- Robert "Bruce Hagen" wrote: Do these messages have anything in common, like the same senders? YW. It must be on the senders end and not much you can do about it.

Again, I thank you. I also agree with you that it must be on the sender's end.

.... It now appears that the messages are all from the same person, and they are always in small type. So the sender is probably specifying an explicit font size in some HTML? Then in the same way that IE users can override such specifications using the Accessibility dialog's Ignore font sizes specified on web pages perhaps using that would make OE override them too? Otherwise there are two other possible workarounds you might want to try. Press Ctrl-f (to forward the message) into a composition window. Then you can override the text size with your own--e.g. using the Source pane if nothing else. More cleanly but with a bit more work you can forward the message as an attachment, then drag the attachment to an open IE window. Then you should surely be able to make IE use the Accessibity dialog's override. Good luck Robert Aldwinckle --- |
