Use the OE troubleshooting log for HTTP (in Options, Maintenance tab) or (better) trace the HTTP connection. E.g. if you can make OE connect to the Hotmail server through Fiddler you could use that. Otherwise you could capture all packets using netcap and filter out just the HTTP message flow using Ethereal (WireShark). BTW I just noticed that you haven't yet given any indication of what the path to hotmail looks like, e.g. firewall? proxy? but that could definitely affect the symptoms you get when trying to connect. Thanks for the advice Robert. In the maintenance options I set outlook
express to store troubleshooting logs for mail servers. However I dont know what to do after that. Also how can I tell if the path to hotmail is firewall or proxy? OE6 Stopped Working With Hotmail Plus
Hi. I have the same problem but in MS Outlook 2003. It used to work but
now just keeps asking for my password. I had Hotmail Plus and it worked for a few months, but suddenly stopped some months ago. I use webmail and haven't had time to deal with it, but as I use Outlook extensively for work would appreciate the ability to use it as this is why I paid in the first place! I have looked it up on the web on various occasions but haven't come across any attept at a solution to the problem till now. There are also warnings on the web that it is extremely difficult to contact Microsoft re any Hotmail Plus issues.. They sent me an email to which I couldn't reply 2 days ago saying I was to be rebilled for this year. I've tried everything on this very helpful page. Any more suggestions?
