OE6 Stopped Working With Hotmail Plus

Does the Hotmail account work as HTTP in a new OE identity? Assuming it
doesn't, the problem's still on MSN/Hotmail's end, despite what Hotmail
Support tells you.

If you would kindly try, if not already done..
Close OE
Delete the msn.com, hotmail.com, live.com cookies on your machine in

Add msn.com, hotmail.com, live.com to your trusted sites and on the IE's

Use the OE troubleshooting log for HTTP (in Options, Maintenance tab)
or (better) trace the HTTP connection. E.g. if you can make OE connect
to the Hotmail server through Fiddler you could use that. Otherwise you
could capture all packets using netcap and filter out just the HTTP message
flow using Ethereal (WireShark).

BTW I just noticed that you haven't yet given any indication of what the path
to hotmail looks like, e.g. firewall? proxy? but that could definitely affect the
symptoms you get when trying to connect. In addition such facilities might
have their own built-in diagnostics which would give you more clues about
your symptom from their perspective (between the client and the server.)

Good luck

Hi. I have the same problem but in MS Outlook 2003. It used to work but
now just keeps asking for my password. I had Hotmail Plus and it worked for
a few months, but suddenly stopped some months ago.

I use webmail and haven't had time to deal with it, but as I use Outlook
extensively for work would appreciate the ability to use it as this is why I
paid in the first place! I have looked it up on the web on various occasions
but haven't come across any attept at a solution to the problem till now.
There are also warnings on the web that it is extremely difficult to contact
Microsoft re any Hotmail Plus issues..

They sent me an email to which I couldn't reply 2 days ago saying I was to
be rebilled for this year. I've tried everything on this very helpful page.
Any more suggestions?
