Default OE, Another reason to stay with, re newsgroups

Recently learned that Microsoft no longer supports OE (when updating to
Office w2007 as I did) - current version here being -6. (Lead to this
discovery by a French dictionary). How the heck did Mr. Gates come up with
that language? Since then dwnld'd another spell check.

Another very serious reason for currently staying the course with OE is the
newsgroup feature.

Serious question: Are there other NoChg newsgroup readers that I should
consider?

Seriously interested,
Wayne G.

See the explanation in Norman Miller's last reply to your OP about this. It
explains it well.

OE has never had a spell check of its own. What would you do if you didn't
have Office? I never have and have used a third party spell check for years.
It works just fine.

I don't know of any no charge newsgroups unless your ISP offers some, but I
fail to see what that has to do with a spell check.

Nothing to do w/spellcheck. Newsgroup access was just another good OE
feature.

AFAIK, Mr. Gates didn't do any programming of MS Office.

Since then dwnld'd another spell check.

That is the easiest way to add spell check capability to MS Outlook
Express.
Now that you know that answer, if you are first in these groups to see the
same question asked by another user, you can give them the answer. That is
how these mutual self-help groups work.

Xnews, SuperGravity, and 40tude Dialog come to mind. I have used them all,
and like the last best (using it as I type). Or, if you want popular and
similar to MSOE, Mozilla Thunderbird (or the news/mail reader component of
the Seamonkey browser suite).

BTW, noting Mr. Gates, it is his company, public or not. By saying Bill
wrote is my nuts way of saying "Microsoft" wrote this stuff and Mr. Gates
manages Microsoft. That is all.
