An XP Pro with current updates, using OE6, has developed a strange symptom:
if an email is attached to an email, I left click on the paper clip, then left click on the attached file's name. It opens minimized, so I have to maximize it to view it. When it is maximized, it will only minimize, not "Restore down". So I can never view the email on part of the screen - it's all or nothing. Any idea what happened, and how to fix it? TIA, Paul |

Right click on the minimized message on the Taskbar and select Move. Now use
the arrow keys to get it in the screen. Close all other windows except this one and use the cursor to drag the message to full screen size. File | Exit, and Windows will remember the size when you open it again. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Paul H" wrote in message ... 1. Maximized = the window covers the entire screen and a double-box icon
appears at top-right (to the left of the Red X box). By default, no OE message window will open maximized. 2. By default, an OE message window will open so that it only partially covers the screen (unless you've resized an earlier instance of this window) and a single box icon appears at the top-right (which, when clicked on, will maximize the current window). 3. Minimized = Restored Down; no window appears on screen but there's an icon for the window in taskbar. If you open the EML (or EMAIL) attachment, do you see #1, #2 or #3? -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) AumHa VSOP & Admin; DTS-L.org Paul H wrote: An XP Pro with current updates, using OE6, has developed a strange symptom: if an email is attached to an email, I left click on the paper clip, then left click on the attached file's name.
