It seems there are many problems with OE & outgoing mail. My problem is the
reverse----my mail sends well enough, but I can't get incoming mail. Is
there a simple reason for this?? All attemps at help gratefully accepted.

Any error message? What happens if you send yourself an e-mail. Have you
verified that your server settings are correct?

Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer
of protection that eats up CPUs, slows down sending and receiving, and
causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes
and has even been responsible for lose of messages. Your up-to-date A/V
program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more, see:

Please fix your Date & Time. You are posting four days in the past, and this
may hurt your chances of receiving good help.
