I've been trying to get my Outlook Express to work properly since 2/21 but
havn't been able too. That's when I downloaded the latest updates from
Microsoft which seems to have screwed up my system. As per advise from this
newsgroup I uninstalled the updates. I uninstalled my anti-virus, AVG free
addittion, and reinstalled without the email scanner. After days of dealing
with this and getting almost continuous help from this site I decided to use
my WindowsXP disc to reinstall Outlook Express hoping it would correct
whatever damage was caused. I have gotten my Outlook Express to allow me to
compose messages and even use stationery again. However, I still can NOT get
my incoming messages to download into OE. I have to go to my provider's (Cox
cable) site and read my messages through their webmail page. I've contacted
them several times and after many hours on the phone with them I was told
that the issue is a 'Microsoft issue'. All of this is in 2 different threads:
Can email messages be saved to CD, started by someone else and Can Outlook
Express be uninstalled. I'm so frustrated with trying to get this problem
resolved I thought I might switch to Netscape as my email program. Does
anyone in here know if that program is better or at least not as sensitive to
corruption as OE?
I have not been able to find the files in OE, recommend in the previous help
thread, to be able to remove it so now I'm totally at a loss as to what to do
other then change email programs. If anyone has any help or suggestions
please advise. Any help will be greatly appreciated before I make any changes.
