My news messages keep getting systematically deleted, apparently according
to how old they are. I've checked out "Tools / Options" section but can't find a solution? |

Newsgroup messages are deleted by the news server after so many days. They
can also be deleted by your own server if that is who you post to newsgroups through. If you are referring to MS newsgroups, posts are retained for 90 days, provided you use MS News as your news server. Setting up Outlook Express Newsreader for MSNews: http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/ou...snewreader.htm And: http://www.insideoe.com/resources/co...tm#setupmsnews If you want to keep posts longer that the server allows, you have to drag them to a user created folder in OE. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "news.kal.sbcglobal.net" wrote in message ... What you see in OE only "mirrors" what's on the newsserver you're using: If
it's deleted on the newsserver, it will be deleted in OE the next time you synchronize with the newsserver. Some newsservers only retain messages for 24 hours or so; messages posted on the MS newsserver are retained by default for a minimum of 90 days. PS: Your headers tell me that you're running very outdated and much
less-secure versions of OE, IE and Windows. Check in at Windows Update ASAP! -- ~PA Bear news.kal.sbcglobal.net wrote: My news messages keep getting systematically deleted, apparently according to how old they are. I've checked out "Tools / Options" section but can't find a solution? |

I've checked out "Tools / Options" section but can't find a solution? Thanks guys. Maybe I've only been to more popular ng's before so I never noticed them being deleted. |
