Hi I have shot myself in the foot I think....my old computer motherboard
died, I have the old hard-drive in a case so have all my old Outlook Express
files BUT I am not smart enough to figure out how to see them. When OE 6
opens on my new computer it is, of course, empty but when I dragged the old
OE files to the new computer, it didn't work. I looked at the tech reports
on Microsoft regarding backing up OE and reinstalling AFTER THE FACT so I see
I should have backed up OE differently. My question: IS IT TOO LATE to still
see my old emails? I couldn't find any file extensions to clue me in that
the files might be emails. I did see that the address book from my old OE
did copy over to the new OE but I need my old emails. I have already found
out that you cant simply uninstall OE, but am HOPING there is a way to
over-write the email folder to see my old emails. The migration option
didn't let me choose a folder to migrate FROM, only to migrate TO. But I may
have missed something cause I am frustrated and cranky. .........I was
thinking that as a last resort perhaps I could use my 2nd computer (not
networked) and do a correct backup of OE there, then save all that to my
(portable) drive, then try to fix my new computer OE....but am not sure if
that would even work, as the NEW OE always opens on this new computer. I am
babbling, and frustrated...sorry and THANKS to any help you can give, I
