I have three computers in my home. On my first computer, I'm running
Microsoft Outlook for email. On my other two comptuters, I'm running Outlook Express for email. I recently sent an email with three Excel file attachments from my Microsoft Outlook computer to my other two computers running Outlook Express. The attachements only came through on one of my Outlook Express computers. The two Outook Express computers are configured exactly the same, as far as I can tell, and I did extensive research to try and troubleshoot the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks... |

Do you have OE configured to leave messages on the server on all machines, OEtoolsaccountpropertiesadvanced tab, set it to delete messages after a reasonable number of days. If you do the above then you will get all mail to each machine. HTH? -- Regards Steve. MS-MVP. OE. [DTS] |

And since I don't believe in wasting time seeing "I tried that" as many others will also, ... . HTH Pop` |

Thanks for the response. The body of the message came through on both
machines but the attachments only came through on one. Another note, the email addresses for each OE machine are unique. So, I was sending the same message with attachments to each machine's unique email address. One machine received the message with attachments and the other received the message without attchments. Thank you... "mac" wrote: "Curtis" wrote in message ... I have three computers in my home. On my first computer, I'm running Microsoft Outlook for email. If messages are sent using the Exchange family of mail programs
(includes Windows Messaging or Outlook97/98/2000+) and the option to use Rich Text Format is selected, it puts the RTF message (and any attached files) in an attachment called WINMAIL.DAT (application/ms-tnef). But this attachment is useless to most other mail programs. In some mail programs (e.g. Outlook Express), the attachment won't even be visible. The Exchange user can turn off the RTF option for messages to selected recipients. Note that if sending via an Exchange server, the Exchange server administrator may be overriding the mail client settings. In this case, the administrator will need to make changes on the server. In some cases, the Exchange server actually removes the attachments to some recipients. For additional information, see the MS-TNEF WINMAIL.DAT Attachments section of Decoding Internet Attachments - A Tutorial http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_san...de.htm#ms-tnef At the above link is information on several utilities that can be used to recover the attachment if the sender can't or won't resend it in plain text mode. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Curtis" wrote in message ...
