I usually leave my computer on. If I leave Outlook Express 6.0 open, when I
return to the computer, I have lost my connection and there is an error message in the lower right hand corner of the screen. Sometimes I have to click on the IE icon several times to reestablish connection (e.g. locating the server). Is there some setting somewhere that I need to change so that I don't lose the connect during idle time? (I contacted adelphia (my isp) but they couldn't figure it out). I am have updated to IE7 and have had the same problem both before and after the update. Thanks, Kelly |

I connect to the internet via adelphia.net. Neither of the disconnect
options on the advanced tab are checked. And under the MSOE account properties tabs, the "always connect using the ..." is not checked either. None of the usual fixes seem to work here ![]() Thanks for your attention and help, Kelly "mac" wrote: "Kelly" wrote in message ... I usually leave my computer on. Are you on a dial-up connection, Broadband, or LAN etc? I am worried that some third party dialler is interfering with your connection? Ensure that OETools OptionsConnection: "Ask before switching dial-up connections" Is checked. Rule out any malware infection: Get CWShredder and run it: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm#Coolwebsearch Review the information he http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Get Spybot S&D, and Adaware, update and run both of those too. Also get HijackThis!, follow all the instructions to get quality help. -- Regards Steve. MS-MVP. OE. [DTS] |

Sorry about that ... I misunderstood your question. I have a broadband
connection, never dial up. I use spysweeper to keep my system clean. "mac" wrote: "Kelly" wrote in message ... I connect to the internet via adelphia.net.
