Signatures is located in the registry.

1.. In Regedit, navigate to this key:

|--HKEY_CURRENT_USER
|-----Identities
|--------{GUID}
|-----------Software
|--------------Microsoft
|-----------------Outlook Express
|--------------------5.0

where GUID is the Global Unique IDentifier for your Identity.

2.. Under that key, you will find the following sub-keys, among
others:

|-----------------------Block Senders
|-----------------------Rules
|-----------------------Signatures

OE supports 2 types of signatures:

1) TEXT which is stored in the registry
2) External FILE of your choosing.

You are going to want to use the second option. Look at Tools,
Options, Signatures.

Thanks for your answer, however the problem is that quipsig wants the
location of the file during the install process-and there is no file that
corresponds to the request.......this comes up in a search, but when I try to
browse for it in the Quipsig window during install it is not
there..........what am I missing here? thanks again...................B

Well Quipsig is a little program that resides in signature, and watches the
send file, and randomly places a new quip in ones sig block with every new
message...great little program if I can get it to work in OE(S)...........B

Well, from what I found at their site:

Note: Before installing QuipSig, you should make note of the name and
location of the signature file your email program uses. If you have no
signature file, you can create a blank file in Notepad, then configure both
your email program and QuipSig to use that file.

I would suggest you use their Contact Us before you continue. If they are
suggesting you move the OE Message Store to Notepad, or another file, that
just doesn't make sense to me.

to install this little program, and did not get much assistance regarding
using it in OE. I thought I would revisit it, but the instructions are not

You're welcome. Quite frankly, after three years of posting here, this is
the first I have seen of that program. Unless someone replies with real
experience using it, I would be very leery.

If you want to settle for some HTML SIGs using OE, I can help you there.
(Just thought I'd throw this in).

Note: HTML Signatures must be less than 4KB.

Open a New Message window and create your signature. Click the Source Tab.
(View | Source Edit if not already checked). Highlight the entire source
code and copy / paste into Notepad. File | Save As and in the File Name
field, save as an htm file, (i.e. Sig1.htm). It will be saved to My
Documents by default. Go to Tools | Options | Signatures. Click: File |
Browse and Insert your saved signature | Apply. You can rename it now if you
wish.

Of course, if the recipient is reading in Plain Text, they won't see it.
