Default Where Emails Stored?

I'm probably getting confused on semantics here, but I went to the web site.
I see "backup", "import", "copy", etc.
Please forgive me, but my ADHD sometimes makes me hyper-focus on the
details.
Can you or anyone else give me a clear, concise, process for doing this
copy/backup thing with some of my emails?

Thanks.

You must include Folders.dbx in your backup, otherwise the import process
won't work should you need to restore.

To keep it simple, you can do either of the following:

Create a folder to backup to any place convenient for you on Drive C. In
Windows Explorer, open the Message Store and right click on each folder
you wish to backup and drag it to the new folder. Select *Copy Here* and
not move here. As I said, include Folders.dbx as well.

Or, IMHO the easiest, just backup the entire Message Store. If you have to
restore the folders, or move them to another machine, you can simply
delete the ones you don't want after you import. Your choice.

(Can't help with your Yahoo problem, but hopefully someone else will).

Not all of them, but yes, some of them, I would like to back up. Which
is
the best approach? Thanks in advance for your answer.

They are dbx files in the Outlook Express Message Store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store Folder will reveal the location of
your Outlook Express files. Press the Tab key to highlight the folder
location, then Ctrl+C. Close OE, then Start | Run | Ctrl+V will put the
location in the box - Click OK and you'll see the OE files. Otherwise,
write
the location down and navigate to it in Windows Explorer.

In WinXP, Win2K & Win2K03, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by
default
marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must
enable
Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder
Options
Icon | View, or in Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options | View.

You can't read them there. Are you interested in backing them up?
