I have spent all day trying to find an answer to this problem, and
nothing helps. Here's what I'm trying to do: quit using Outlook Express 6 and start using Outlook 2002. How do I transfer my address book and all my message files? When I try the normal Import procedure (from OL), it only gives me a list of certain file types I can import, but it won't let me import a .csv (Windows) file (my address book) because it says I need to install a translator. So when I put in my Office CD-ROM at the prompt, it says it can't locate the file needed. Then I moved on and tried to import my mail message back-up folder, but the same thing happened and OL didn't list .dbx files on their list of importable files. I can't believe there is not an easier way to share (transfer) data between these two programs. Am I missing something here? |

Hi Duke Girl,
It should be easy to import a CSV file into an Outlook Contacts folder. This should be a basic function. The best place to find help for this issue would be in an Outlook group. I could provide step-by-step instructions if you'd care to try it again before seeking help in an Outlook group. To transfer messages, Import from Outlook Express or Export to Outlook from OE -- on the same PC. The addresses could also be imported from OE. Outlook Help is one resource to use. Here is assistance found this way for Outlook 2002 and 2003: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/as...919601033.aspx -- Tim K. aka Kuay Tim MS-MVP - Outlook Express Lynnwood, WA * wrote in message oups.com...
