Is it feasible to import a message store created in OE6 (WinXP) into
OE5 (Win95)? This would just be a stopgap pending purchase of a new PC. TIA, -- Martyn Tindall Leeds, England, United Kingdom (To reply, please remove "spamfree.".) |

Why not just copy the existing message store contents (all of its DBX files)
to a CD or other type of media and restoring it to your new system? See the info at this link for more about backup/restore operations for Outlook Express: http://www.insideoe.com/backup/index.htm -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/pr...8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped. The files are the same, so yes.
Move the dbx files to the Win 95 machine. Make sure the files are not marked Read Only. In OE, File, Import, Messages, OE5, Store directory, point to the files that you moved. -- Ron Sommer "Martyn Tindall" wrote in message ... : Is it feasible to import a message store created in OE6 (WinXP) into : OE5 (Win95)? If it's indeed IE/OE 5.0, the messages may import OK but they might not be
usable unless he upgrades to IE/OE 5.01 or higher. Long story... -- ~PA Bear Ron Sommer wrote: Martyn said OE5 (Win 95). "PA Bear" wrote in message ... I think the messages should be okay but the Address Book won't import

CRS strikes again. I thought messages created with the more current Address
Book wouldn't work in OE5.0 or earlier. Other way 'round? Steve Cochran wrote: Correct. "Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE" wrote in message ...
