Default unable to "receive" mail

Help....I can log on, sign on...and send mail using IE6...but can't seem to
receive mail. Can even access newsgroups.

Have checked all configurations in this desk top for setting up "email
account". Can't seem to find anything wrong. Have the same configurations in
my notebook & that seems fine. From my notebook, I'm fully functional with
IE6....but I wish I could resolve the issue at my desktop.

Anyone with such experience?

If you are downloading the messages to your laptop, then your desktop won't
get any messages unless you set the laptop to leave a copy on the server
under Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced.
