I am using Outlook Express for reading these postings and I have it set to
download all messages. For most of the NewsGroups the downloading is fine. When I look at the summary in the lower left corner of the NewsGroup for microsoft.public.pocketpc.activesync it shows "259 messages(s), 0 unread, 8832 not downloaded" Does anyone have any idea why I did not download the 8832 messages? By *Download All Messages* do you mean that you have Get XXX headers at a
time unchecked? If not, uncheck it. All messages on the server will now be downloaded. If Refresh does not work, right click on the news server and Reset. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ wrote in message ink.net... When I go to the settings drop down menu, the choices are don't synchronize,
all messages, new messages only, headers only. I have chosen all messages, yet I still see the message below in the lower left corner when I highlight the newsgroup. Also, to the right of the newsgroup I have (989) showing in the color blue. Neil "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... Everyone has their own preferences, but this is how I am set up.
I have Don't Synchronize checked. (I never use sync). I have Get XXX headers at a time unchecked. In Tools | Accounts | News | Properties, I have Include this account when checking for new messages checked. This will download any new messages when OE checks for new e-mail, whatever your settings are, (every xx minutes). The number you mention in blue, 989, are messages that have not been downloaded yet. If you set up the way I am, you will get all your messages downloaded without having to Sync, Refresh, or Send/Receive. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ wrote in message nk.net...
