Messages stuck in Outbox
I've been using OE [and Norton AV] for years and this has never happened.
Since a few weeks ago the messages won't get out, I have to go to hotmail directly to send the messages from there. I receive this error: "The server does not support the required HTTP methods. Account: ', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Method Not Allowed', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC35" I deleted the outbox.dbx file from the OE store folders and it didn't work. I'll try turning off the email scanning fron Norton and see how that works. But if this were not to work either, what else can I try to fix this problem? Thanks in advance. |

See:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...n-us%3BQ311022 And: Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that eats up CPUs and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A/V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. Messages stuck in Outbox
Hi, thanks for your prompt reply. I turned off Norton email scanning and
still the messages won't get out of the outbox and I'm still receiving the same error message. I also read the article you are referring to, and, while I do have multiple Hotmail e-mail accounts, none of them is assigned to a single e-mail identity [whatever that means], they are all different. What else is left to do? __________________________________________________ _______ "Bruce Hagen" wrote: See: http://support.microsoft.com/default...n-us%3BQ311022 And: Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. A single identity would mean that you access all the accounts within the
same instance of OE, i.e. sharing the same Inbox, Outbox etc. We will have to wait for someone else's opinion as this is all I have. Anti-virus applications' email scanning do not scan MSN/Hotmail (or IMAP)
messages so that's not your problem. IE Tools Options Privacy Sites: type in hotmail.com and Allow Cookies. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE, Shell/User, Security), Aumha.org VSOP, DTS-L.org Taurean wrote: Hi, thanks for your prompt reply.
