Recently had a virus necessitating a complete Windows XP system rebuild. I
did the whole exporting of mail files/address book/etc to a CD for my (used document "Outlook Express: How to back up and recover Outlook Express data" #Q270670). Things seemed to work well enough, though several of my folders (with associated E-mail messages) did not import after the system re-build. I examined the mail files back-up, and the folders I wanted seemed to be in there, but they did not import. I tried re-importing everything, but again the same folders (and their associated messages) are not importing. Anyone have any ideas? Is there a way to import select folders and their messages manually from the back-up text files? Thanks for your help. Tom |

You have to copy the CD to your HDD and remove the Read Only attribute. Then
you should be able to import. Reference - Backup & Resto http://www.insideoe.com/backup/ -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "BOHICA" wrote in message ... It sounds like some of the folders may have been corrupted. Do any of them
have a number appended to them (such as Inbox(1).dbx, etc.)? Were some of the mail folders associated with another identity?
