I'm running XP Pro. Some time, most of the time, my delete key on the
keyboard will not work in OE. It will work in all other programs. If I do
get it to work it will only work once.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Does Delete on the Toolbar work? Or Right click | Delete? If you have the
same problems doing it that way, try compacting your folders.

Click on Outlook Express at the top of the folder tree so no folders are
open. Then: File | Work Offline (or double click Working Online in the
Status Bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until
the compacting is completed.

I should have clarifed this is in the body of the text when i have created
or am replying to an email. When I try and delete something I have typed or
delete part of the original message. I highlight the text then press the
delete key. Nothing happens.

You may have a damaged identity. File | Identity | Add New Identity. Create
a new one and test it. If all is well, you can import your messages from the
old identity and delete it.
