Default Downloading duplicate POP-mails after reinstalling

I've reinstalled OE6 and kept my mails via settings wizard. But now, when I
connect OE wants to re-download all mails I've left on the Yahoo server. This
would be a big mess and I've stopped it, but how can I avoid it and just
resume with my new mails? I tried marking mails as read via IE but no luck.

1. Open OE and go to Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store Folder and write
down where OE is storing its data files.
2. Close OE.
3. Go there with Windows Explorer (with Win2K and WinXP you will have to set
Windows Explorer to show hidden files (Tools | Folder Options | View).
4. Delete Pop3uidl.dbx
5. The messages should download once more, but that's it.

Thanks Frank, but is there no way to avoid downloading them at all?

Sure. Go to the server and delete them all right after you delete the
POP3UIDL.DBX file. Use either the web access form if your ISP provides one
or use telnet to delete them all from the server.

OE will only download messages from the Yahoo Inbox and optionally the
Bulk folder (a setting in the Yahoo web mail).

So for any mails that you want to keep on Yahoo indefinitely, create
some user folders and move the messages there.
