What type of email account? If exchange, they need permission to write to
your calendar - you can give it by right clicking on the calendar folder,
choosing properties and giving them permission.

Diane,

I'm not sure what you mean by "What type of email Account" I use Microsoft
Outlook. When I click on the calendar tab, it brings up my calendar and
suggestions on sharing my calendar but it doesn't explain how a person who
shares my calendar can add to it. It it does, i'm not understanding.

do you have a POP3, Exchange server or IMAP account?

You need Exchange server to share. The other person opens your calendar and
if they have write permission on the calendar, they can create appointments
on it.
