Default identical calender meeting appearing twice side by side

When viewing managers calendar in my outlook , sometimes an incomming email
has added a meeting to calendar which then appears twice (side by side) both
identical. If I open one and accept it is treated independantly. if I delete
one both copies disappear.
Manager also has 2 copies added to that day.
How can I stop two views of appointment/meeting showing.
