Default Calendar Default Category

Can I set a default category so that any time an event is created by my
syncing mechanism (Blackberry Desktop Manager) the new events are assigned to
that category?

You can open an item, add the category and then save the item as the default
item for that folder. I don't how this would work on a sync'd device.

Default Calendar Default Category

Outlook does not apply a category by default - it can by rules but AFAIK,
rules don't run on sync or apply to anything except mail.
