Default "When posting to this folder, use IPM.Appointment" does not work

I have specified the "When posting to this folder, use:" option to
IPM.Appointment, but I am still getting meeting invitations in a customer
form by my company. I thought they should be converted back to the default
IPM.Appointment. Did I misunderstand the meaning of this option? Any
suggestion on how to get what I want? I want all invites to be stored as
IPM.Appointment in my calendar.
Thank you very much.

If you had posted the Outlook versions involved in this transaction, you could have had an answer tonight. As it is, it is past my bedtime.

After furious head scratching, Alex Tang asked:

Oh, thanks for the quick response, and sorry for the missing information. I
am using Outlook 2003.

some more information. when I create an appointment, it is of type
IPM.Appointment. It's just the appointment I received from someone else is
using the custom form. Also, when I create an appointment, the recipient is
also showing it as a custom form.

So, it seems like it has been set somewhere (probably in the exchange
server) that all appointments are defaulted to the custom form.
