I am trying to create a critical dates calendar and have many recurring
events. If I try to create a reminder, it doesn't work. If I remove the recurrence, then the reminder works. Is this just a function of Outlook or is there a fix for this? Thanks! |

In other words, is this, say, a weekly event that has happens in less than 3 days and you're putting a 4 day reminder on it? There is a bug (or, at least, a reproducible problem) where what you're pointing at happens. -- f.h. |

We tried to recreate the event with a new reminder. As an example, if annual reporting is due on 4/15/07 and every year recurring and we set a 6 week reminder, it didn't pop up originally and when recreated today with a 6 week reminder, it does not show up then either. Non recurring events work fine. So, we are creating a future event with a reminder that would occur in the past (due to it not working originally). So, you are saying, if we were to create the event with a reminder that does not occur before today, we are fine (and can modify it later for future dates)? Thanks! |

The bug that came up in a different thread was, in essence, this: 1) Set up an appointment for 5 days from now. 2) Set the reminder for 7 days before the event. 3) Get the reminder 4) Set up a *recurring* appointment for 5 days from now, repeating, say, monthly. 5) Set the reminder for 7 days before the event. 6) *Don't* get the first reminder. You will get the reminder in the future. If you had existing events that you *weren't* getting reminders for, starting outlook with a /cleanreminders switch likely would have fixed it. -- f.h. |

I'll try a few tests to see how it works. I'll post back after I run some variations per your recommendations. Thanks! |
