Default accept or decline meeting requests

I am unable to accept or decline meeting requests. I can send the request
from my computer to another person and they can accept my request, but I am
not able to accept or decline requests from other people. The requests come
in the form of an email, but do not automatically transfer to my calendar or
allow me to rewspond to the request.
