Default Sharing Addtional Calenders

We have figured out how to share additional calenders that were created, but
when i go to view that shared calender i can not find it. I can only find
the users original calender. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is
outlook 2003 running on XP with an exchange server.

To provide access to a shared folder that isn't one of the folders listed on the File | Open | Other User's Folder dialog, the mailbox owner needs to grant "folder visible" permission to the root of the mailbox and any other parent folders of the shared folder, as well as appropriate permission -- at least Reviewer -- on the shared folder itself.

The user who needs access then goes into Tools | E-mail Accounts or Tools | Services (depending on the Outlook version), brings up the properties for the Exchange Server service, and on the Advanced tab, adds the mailbox.

For more information on folder permissions, with how-to screen shots, see http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/permissions.htm and http://office.microsoft.com/assistan...HA011134811033

Default Sharing Addtional Calenders

I have tried everything you indicated and I am unable to view the new
calender. I can still view the orignal calender. All the permissions i
created throught the folder tree for myself were as an owner.

The section where you said i have to add the mailbox is that the mailbox of
the other user that i am trying to see the calender of?

Thanks

Mike

It's the other person who needs to add you to their folder permissions. It's not something you can do on your own behalf.

Yes. Unless you do that, you will be able to see only their default Calendar folder.

I don't know if this will help you. The way I set up our shared
vacation calendar is as follows:
1- Create the calendar in the public folders/ all public folder,
right-click on it and select "add to Favorites".
2- Under public folders, expand "Favorites", then right-click and click
"Add to other Calendars". This would typically make the folder appear
with your regular outlook calendar, just make sure each user has the
appropriate permissions so they can read/write on the calendar.

hope it helps.
