Hello,
My customer is running OL2003 & SBS2003 (all with latest SP and patches). The customer is a training company and they are currently using the resource booking feature of Outlook / Exchange. We have one problem with some external teachers. These people do have an account associated to a mailbox but they never use it. The problem is that while resources assignments automatically appears in the Free/Busy planning, teachers assignments won't appear until the teacher has accepted an appointment (which will never happen). We are thus in a situation where we can't tell if a teacher is available for a future appointment making the whole system useless for half of the staff. I tried to logon as each external teacher and go to Outlook Options Calendar Options Resource Scheduling I checked "automatically accept meeting requests..." and I have give editor permissions to the organizer via the "set permissions" button. I would have expected to get a resource-like behavior for external teachers but this doesn't work. Do I have to set "automatically decline conflicting / recurring meetings" as well ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Xavier |

You'll only get a resource-like behavior if the teacher is invited as a Resource. Some of the tools at http://www.slipstick.com/calendar/skedresource.htm might help, though.
