Default How does outlook calendar register different time periods?

I am using microsoft office outlook and when I try to view my diary in 5 day
work week the blocks of time shown do not reflect the amount of time
allocated to each item. So If I have a meeting that lasts for three hours,
the block only spreads to the single hour frame, suggesting that my meeting
is then finished and I am free thereafter. Can I do something to alter this?
