This is just one example, it happens to everyone I try to send mail to.

It looks like Clearwire is using "POP-before-send" authentication. Lame.
Passé. 20th Century authentication technology. Doesn't work well with
MSOE because MSOE will attempt to send email before it executes a POP
fetch.

Using Telnet to connect to 'mail.clearwire.net':

Okay. The error message suggests that they want you to use
"POP-before-send" to authenticate to the server. MSOE likes to try to
send before receiving (POP fetch) email. Based on the "Help" list above,
try this first:

Toosl | Accounts | Mail and select your mail account
('mail.clearwire.net'), and click on the "Properties" button.

Select the "Servers" tab. Down where it says, "Outgoing Mail Server",
put a check in the "My server requires authentication" box. That should
be enough. Now try it.

Report back. There may be one more easy step that needs to be done. The
alternative will be pretty ugly.
