Jim,
Thanks for your reply,
There were no number appended files. I'm sure that isn't a good sign.
would these files be permanantly deleted or placed in the deleted items
folder?
Thanks again

You say you've not removed or compacted them (not compress, compacting
just recovers wasted space that remains after deletion). Determine the
location of your message store folder (Tools/Options/Maintenance -
Advanced tab and click Store Folder button). Then close Outlook Express
and use Windows Explorer to navigate to that store folder. In there do
you find any DBX files with a number appended (i.e., "Sent
Items(1).dbx")? If so those files were corrupted since you do not
compact them and Outlook Express created a new one, without corruption
or a number appended to serve in its place. Post back with your results
since there are 3rd party utilities that can recover information from
corrupted files, such as those as www.oehelp.com

I'm looking for a message that I sent back in March. However, for
some
reason my sent items folder only goes back to late april. I haven't
removed
any of the messages or compressed them or anything. Is there any way
to find
the lost message?
Thanks in advance for your help.
